Reign Forest PreschoolWelcome to Family Church’s Preschool Ministry for children ages birth through Pre-Kindergarten. Our mission is to partner with parents to love, nurture and plant seeds of faith in the hearts of young children. We commit to:
PRESCHOOL CLASSROOMSWe arrange our classrooms by age to better teach children. Promotion happens on a child's birthday and the parents decide if its time to promote or remain in the current class for a few more weeks.
PROGRAMSREIGN FORESTThe REIGN FOREST is our preschool ministry at Family Church. Your child is special to us. It is our desire to minister to your child's spiritual, physical, and emotional needs. We are committed to providing the most loving, caring environment possible for your child. We begin teaching your preschooler from birth. Each class consists of story time, puppet time, and praise time in the MUDD HUTT, followed by craft time, review time, snack/bathroom time, and play time. REIGN FOREST meets weekly on Saturday at 6 PM and Sunday at 10 AM and 6 PM. For more information, contact Nathan and Jami Travis AWANA PugglesIn many circles, “puggle” is a common term for a baby platypus. In children's ministry circles, Awana Puggles is an enriching program for your pre-Cubbies kids (usually older 2- and younger 3-year-olds) that presents basic biblical concepts:
Awana Puggles teaches toddlers simple lessons through teaching cards, activities, music and more. Awana Puggles leaders have a leader’s guidebook to help them plan and direct club time and communicate the lesson. Then parents—an Awana Puggle’s first and best teacher—can step in to reinforce the lessons with take-home cards that include ideas to point out God’s work each day. And little details like Awana Puggles T-shirts, puzzles and coloring books make every precious child feel like part of the group. For more information, contact Shawn and Suzie O'Brien
AWANA CubbiesTaken from II Timothy 2:15, AWANA stands for "Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed." AWANA is a wonderful tool for kids to be discipled. AWANA Cubbies is for ages 3 and 4. (Children must have turned 3 before September 15th to enroll). AWANA meets every Wednesday during the school year from 6:30 - 8:30 PM. For more information, contact Shawn and Suzie O'Brien PARENT DEDICATIONA baby is a wondrous gift from God himself, and no greater human experience can enter a home than that of a parent receiving such a gift. The joy of it all, however, must be encased in the responsibility and knowledge that this baby has indeed come from God, and that the Lord has given specific instructions to us as parents on how we are to raise our children. In Deuteronomy 6:6-7 the Lord says, "These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." Ephesians 6:4 also says, "Do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord." The precedent for the ceremony of Baby Dedication is established for us through the presentation of Samuel by Hannah (1 Samuel 1:28) and of Jesus by Joseph and Mary (Luke 2:22). The purpose of Baby Dedication is really to be found in the intention of the parent or parents. Rightly understood, the ceremony is one of acknowledging that your baby has come from God as a gift. Your responsibility is to train, raise, and love them in such a way that they grow up to love and serve the Lord all the days of their life because of the influence and example of your godly life. This ceremony is as much a time of dedication for parents as it is for the baby. Baby Dedication signifies a serious and heartfelt vow on the part of the parents to raise the child unto the Lord to the best of their ability. Raising a child in a proper and godly home includes: praying constantly for our children (Job 1:5); living Christ-like lives as authentic examples to our children (Proverbs 20:7); instructing our children in the way of the Lord (Proverbs 22:6); and disciplining our children with love, even as the Lord disciplines us (Proverbs 13:24; 29:15,17; Colossians 3:21). In this special portion of our worship service, parents make a pledge before the congregation to raise their child in a Christ-centered home, and the people of Family Church commit to support these parents as they do so. For children up to age 2. Parents are given a framed dedication certificate. Contact Nathan and Jami Travis for more info.
