Wellness Policy

Because we care about your child and desire to help you prevent your child from sickness and/or other children from sickness, we established some basic guidelines that we ask you to follow. Here are the guidelines as stated in out Preschool Ministry Handbook:

We cannot accept any children who have visible contagious symptoms, such as:

  • colored mucus in nose
  • fever
  • vomiting or diarrhea
  • rashes
  • colds, flu, etc.
  • chicken pox, measles or any other disease
  • ringworm, impetigo, headlice

If your child has any of these symptoms our teachers will ask you not to place your child in our preschool until they are free from these symptoms.

The following chart shows the most common childhood diseases. The incubation period is the amount of time between when the child is exposed to the disease and when he shows definite signs of being infected. The contagious period is the time when the child is capable of spreading the disease to others. Children must be free from fever and disease for 24 hours before returning to preschool. This means they must have NO fever, not reduced fever.

Common
Disease

Chicken Pox 14-21 days Until no new pox appear and all pox have scabs
Measles 7-14 days Until 5 days after development of rash

We love children so much that we want to protect them in every way possible. Remember to pray for protection from sickness and for healing if your child is sick. Thanks for allowing us to minister to you and your children.
